Pro Tools/Mac wave file question.

I tracked some overdubs for a client in Pro Tools. He's working in Nuendo. No biggie.

So I've been consolidating some vocal takes and exporting them to his hard drive and in Mac finder, they come up with different icons; sometimes they have the Pro Tools wav icon and sometimes they have the quicktime wav icon.

I'm sure this is no big deal, but does anyone know why?

I'm doing everything exactly the same way each time.

thanks!

I think this is just your OS playing tricks with the files. Your OS will see the wav file and associate it with a program that plays, opens that type of file.

You can assign file types to programs if you want as well.

Not a problem...it's just the way it is. I have Nuendo/XP & PTLE Mac/OS on the same Mac Pro with MacDrive & they just show up that way.

Doesn't really answer your question "why" though.

Okay, thanks. I figured it was okay, but nice to be sure.

although I guess it would look a little neater if they were all the same. I guess I'm obsessive, huh?

I also didn't realize that iTunes was capable of previewing 88.2/24 files, but it plays them. Nice to not have to open PT to do that.
