Thread Starter | Which One is Faster?
I've been using Digi 002 rack for years, eventually using Logic much more. I have a Power Mac G5 Dual 2.0 with 1 Firewire 800 port. I currently devote that Firewire 800 port to an external hard drive for audio recording. Would it be signigicantly faster if i fed an RME FF800 (or any firewire 800) interface to that port, and then give my recording drive a Firewire 400 connection instead? Digi 002 rack is Firewire 400. ? |

Is your HDD over 7200 RPM and support FW800? If not, it won't make any diff.

actually i posted wrong. my audio drive is indeed 7200rpm SATA. i'm running Digi 002 rack , which is Firewire 400. So basically i'm just curious how much faster using the Fireface 800 RME instead, will be in Logic Pro. (32+ 24/96 tracks) |
