where have my RTAS plugs gone after installing HD?

hi

I have just installed HD on a machine (dual G5) that had LE on it.

Not all of my RTAS plugins are showing up in HD that I had in LE. any ideas why?

for example with PSP plugs: I even tried reinstalling the RTAS versions of mastercomp and vintage warmer to no avail. Neon shows up fine from the start.

wizoo verb is not showing up, there may be others that I haven't noticed yet.

yes I know the difference between RTAS and TDM, and dual mono and stereo

no I have not unplugged my iloks

any thoughts would be apprectiated

thanks

Did you go through a version upgrade as well? As in for instance from 6.x to 7.x?

Have you verified the plug-ins are in fact in the Plug-Ins folder?

Have you tried the basic troubleshooting as in trashed the PT preferences?
(if not, try this app: Bienvenue)

the plugs are in the folder

it was only an upgrade from LE 7.1 to HD 7.3

I haven't trashed the prefs, I'll try that program now, it looks useful

nope

I trashed the prefs for pro tools and for DAE, and I installed the upgrade to 7.3.1

they still don't show up
anyone else?

I am emailing PSP but it is not unique to their plugs

I have noticed something.

all the files for the plugs that aren't showing up are missing the file extension ".dpm"

all the other plugs that are showing up have this extension

anyone know what this is? it doesn't make any difference if I add it manually.

Wow, that's weird..

Is there a tick in the "Hide extension"-part of the plugin files' info? (Get Info->Name&Extension)

no

I read somewhere that this "dpm" extension is a relatively new version 7 thing (the page I read had no explanation other than this). But the non "dpm" plugs did work in LE 7 so thts strange.

I'm going to try downloading the latest updates for my psp's once my client has left today

ps. I played a gig in helsinki in January, it was a beautiful place

Yeh, go for the updates but this is just so strange- my Macbook's plugs all have .dpm and I know that's how it is in my HD rig as well...

Hope you get it working, though. Just out of curiosity- what other plugs than the PSP aren't showing?

And about this little town I'm in- you really should check it out now in the summer time. Now that you've seen it in the winter you wouldn't believe what kind of northern Californians(/or anywhere-where-it's-warmians(huh?))we are up here.

I think its just vintage warmer, master comp, and wizoo 2 reverb. Oh it might be the other mastering eq of PSP's (not neon) (master q?) I'm not sure, I never use it..

as I said I tried deleting what is there and reinstalling but it doesn't make any difference.

do you have PSP plugs? do they have the extension?

helsinki was like a magic winter wonderland when I was there

Unfortunately I don't have any of the PSP's at the moment. I've been thinking of trying 'em out, though. But that doesn't help much here...

Maybe someone who has 'em would care to chime in on this?

Psst- btw, what gig was that you were here for?

Just my band and a swiss band on tour around europe, we just played a small place to a handful of people, probably the quietest of the tour. It had a good PA, a midas desk, there was a battle of the bands on in a smaller bar downstairs

Soo I think you were playing at Tavastia, then. Too bad it was quiet that time around!
