Thread Starter | Mac Pro: Pro Tools HD 7.3 Internal Record Drive?
Pro Tools Newbie here. Got Power MAC Quad running PT 7.31 HD3 Accel. Can I use one of the three free hard drive slots as a Pro Tools Recording Temp Drive? Or is external better?

Internal is fine, because since the drive bays the internal drives aren't really fixed anymore. The only important thing is not to record on your system drive. Offcourse inside your computer the disks do have a bit more risk of error if the system goes toast, but the same could happen to a seperate RAID fileserver... (Make sure you backup your audio frequently and also make sure you got a backup system disk, then you can always boot into a working system) |
