Pc as soft synth

Hello everybody,

I just bought a new system with a mac pro, rosetta 800, and also a pc with a cheap audio card, sending audio through optical adat to the mac in order to use it as soft synth. My daw is logic pro

The way I meant it to use it, was to record the midi on the mac and send it to the Pc. When it came to use it I discovered a singular problem.
All the tracks there are sent to the pc are played by the soft synth selected, regardless of the midi channel assigned at the output/input. For instance, if I recorded one midi track for the bass (midi ch1) and one for a guitar (midi ch2), on the bass soft synth I will be hearing both the bass and guitar, even if it is set to receive on channel 1 only. So the result is that right now I'm able to open only one synth on my pc.

I really cannot undertand why this happens and if there any possibilities to have it worked the way I wanted.

The other option (I would rather the first one) would be to sync them, but it seems as it roughly works if as slave is set the mac and it doesn't at all if the slave is the Pc (not really the best solution!).

Does anyone can help me or I should sell the pc???????

what is your soundcard, pc and mac?

what is your vsti host on pc?

are you using a host on the pc?

what audio app are you running on the mac?

need a little more info to help.
I use a pc for soft synths integrated with my mac, protools system
works great, there is no reason why it wouldn't for you either, just need
to know what you are running to be able to help

My host is logic pro 7.2.3 on the Mac and Logic 5.5 for the Pc.

Audio card Rosetta 800 through Apogee fire-wire card on the mac
Emu 0404 for the Pc (connected through the optical out of emu into in optical Mac Pro)

Aside from logic I'm not using any other app., of course there are plug-ins but to me it seems is not to be important for you to know...right?

The midi interface is Motu Micro Lite

If you can really help me to solve this problem I will be very greatful...if you need to have any other info just ask me. I apologize if the info I gave is not complete yet, but sometimes I'm not familiar with English tech terminology.

Do you use your system as I intentended to do? You record your midi on the Mac and send it via midi to the Pc?

That shouldn't be the problem and, not all soft synth have this control, nevertheless some time ago I tried also that, and it did not work.

There is also another problem I forgot to mention.
On Logic on the Pc only the selected track, and so instruments, can play. This is regardless of the record button being pressed on other tracks. This sounds weird to me: as long as the rec button is enabled all of those tracks are supposed to receive signal and so to play.

This story is really driving me crazy guys!
