Thread Starter | Protools Question: how to tell RMS level
Is there an easy way to determine the RMS level of my mixes? I always have my master fader set to zero, with nothing clipping.

If your using PT7, the Audiosuite Gain plug-in will now give you the RMS value as well as the Peak value of a file. If you're wanting to know the RMS level of a mix your currently working on, the best thing is to prob get a metering plug-in that displays the ifo in Real Time. There are a fair few free ones, like the Sonalksis Free G for example that do this. Only thing is though, they dont display an average for the entire song afaik. But yeah, that's the best/easiest way I know of how to do it. ![]() Best. |
