External Video Playback PC
PC: WinXP, super crummy video card, cubase sx3.

I heard that macs can output video through a firewire port to a dv player.

Is there a way that I can do this using a PC? Will this give me any performance enhancements?

I don't mind having the video playing on the same screen as my DAW, but it is stating to bog down with all of the samples that I am running.

Any help is appreciated.

Cubase doesn't support firewire video natively (Sonar does since v5 btw).

Here is an application that seems to be what you are looking for though....

... it mentions that it works with Nuendo so should be fine with Cubase.
