Sony Oxford Reverb

Does anyone have this? How does it stack up to Altiverb 5/6, IK Multimedia CSR? Princeton StereoRoom 2016?

Can you post some audio examples please? It's either braces for my kids, or the whole Oxford bundle. Help me decide.

Hmmm, the aesthetics of your offspring or the aesthetics of your work.

This makes me really really uncomfortable...

You can download a trial.
I thought it was okay, but nothing unmissable. For a really useful reverb have a look at this, as imho it sounds better than IK's CSR stuff and is also good for lovely long and dense reverbs:

* sonicflavours *-Vst plugins products r66-Reason Refill

Sonic Flavours' R66.

The rest of the Sonnox bundle is pretty cool, but I didn't think the reverb was its strong point.

Cheers,

Joris

I recently purchased the full Sonnox native bundle. It’s somewhat of a no brainer purchase when you buy it with the other plugs because it ends up costing about half of its regular price.

As for the sound quality, I own the IK CSR, TL Space and Waves IR reverbs. IMO the Sonnox holds its own against any of those. I find it easy to tweak and the controls are very intuitive. It’s fast and painless to come up with some excellent, expensive sounding reverbs. YMMV

imho, anyone that says this plugin isn't good doesn't know how to use it. i think you definitely need to read the manual to gain a full understanding of it because sonnox plugs include features that enable to plugin to emulate various hardware but you need to know how to use it. it's quite an unusual interface and i've found the full range a little unintuitive but that's because there's so much involved in each of them. they're very well thought out.

i myself bought the entire sonnox bundle and am very happy with it and the reverb rocks. artsacoustic is also really good

Okay, I just demoed this. Now, I need some explanation from those that even compare CSR to this. I personally found CSR to be thin and uninteresting.

To me, this is the most lush, rich, and sweet sounding native verb that I've heard. It comes with built-in Oxford EQ. The only other native verb that made me say 'wow' was the Princeton Stereoroom 2016. Unfortunately, they do not make this in AU.

I just went through some of the presets including the EMT-140/250, the Lex stuff under emulations, and some of the vocal presets. I'm truly amazed. Is it me, or is this on par with Altiverb?

I did a trial on most of their bundle when I first switched to PTLE last year. I thought the reverb was amazing sounding and loved their limiter as welll. the reverb, limiter, and maybe the transient designer would be my pick for a bundle. Their EQ didn't do anything for me and I was more in love with the URS trial at the time.

But yeah, their reverb rocks and perhaps I should buy it eventually. Just have the basic pt reverb and TL space. the sonnox and convolution reverbs are 2 completely different sounds and beasts I think.
