ProTools Automation Weirdness

I'm having this problem with the ProTools automation. Whenever I copy a region from one track onto another track, ProTools copies the the automation data from the other track, even when there is no data. So for example, if I copy a region from track A to track B and then want to mute track B, the track mutes, but when it come to that region, it unmutes the track. If you go to view the mute automation, there are nodes where I copied the region. Does anyone have any idea what to do to fix this?

Delete the automation on the copied track. Click, drag, delete.

Instead of copying the track, pull the region from the regions list, or make a duplicate playlist.
