Question Optimizing PC for Audio

I used a good guide to optimizing your PC for audio a little while back and I can't find it. I've rebuilt my computer and I need to optimize it now and I'd like to find a good guide.

BTW I've searched the forums and haven't found anything. Probably due to search terms.. The guides I've found on the net aren't that good.

Thanks.

I also found this article from Sound On Sound:

It's pretty good. It Discusses which tweaks are necessary and not necessary.

This is the one I used. Did it in 2004 and have'nt had a reason to do anything more. I think I did everything listed but can't be for sure, so only do what your brave enough to try. I printed out a copy which I still have just in case I need to reverse something. My computer is a dedicated recording computer, no internet or junkware!! I've been very picky about what goes on it and it's been very stable. I just switched to reaper and it's still perfectly stable so far. When I pull up the task manager there is only like four programs running; 512mb of ram, 3ghz hyperthread processor, a seperate hardrive for audio file, ect.... Runs Great!!!
