La2a - v. good on vocals, use it on bass also, maybe on a drums bus 1176 - more crunchy voxez, bass, snares, el. guitars pultec - great on vox, kik, bass all of these you can write them to disk to free up DSP power K.oL. reverb - pretty useable, not as good as the Powercore ones- diferent flavour, anyway - IMHO. the channel strip - good if don't have anything else better the amp simulator - Awesome. i use it instead of the POD with good results. Cambridge EQ - not as good as the Oxford, IMHO. Get them both - Powercore&UAD. You got DSP like in PT with 2 of the best PT software packages, without getting the exp. Digidesign hardware - that is if U are happy with your native stuff. |

Also try this forum. UAD Forum I think I may give it another try. My first experiences were'nt happy ones..(PCI bus problems, wasn't compatible with dual G4 macs..etc). But so many people are digging it around here, so I'll probably look again. my pennies worth.

The UAD-1 powered plugs (and Logic's freeze function) are keeping my ancient G4/400 working. I'm waiting for the next generation of G5 to be announced before I move to OSX. When I do, I will likely buy another UAD-1 card. An essential tool for me. Love the new Fairchild plug. Best....H |

Keep yer' hands off my UAD card. Yes, go to the store and but (at least) one as soon as possible. I understand the new Studio Pak has all the cool stuff included.

I have 2 of them in my Nuendo rig. I love it. They took my mixes to the next level. The new Fairchild plug sounds fantastic. I don't know how authentic it is compared to the hardeware unit as I have never had the pleasure of using one. I have heard th Bomb Factory stuff on my buddy's Pro Tools Mix Plus rig and the UAD are in a different league IMO. Go for it, you won't be sorry. B |

The UAD plugs are freakin' awesome. It's one of those purchases that you say how did I do without this and how can I ever imagine working without out it ever again. A completely no brainer about whether or not to buy it. Just do it and you'll be very happy. Like someone said on this thread and I totally agree - it took my music to the next level, too! You'll use them on individual tracks as well as on your final mix. And the Fairchild is absolutely amazing! Robert |
