There's no quick way to change the files across - the M1 doesn't have a floppy drive, or anything of the like, does it? I'm trying to remember ...

I think you'd have to sync LOGIC to the midi clock on the M1 (i think it was one of the first to have one!), hit record/pause on logic, then play the sequence from the M1. It should start playing your sequence split onto different MIDI channels (as assigned in the sequencer), which LOGIC will record onto one single track. There is then a function in LOGIC to split MIDI info by channel.

I'm sure you'll have to do some nudging and editing once its in LOGIC, since the timing is bound to be a bit loose on the transfer.

You may be able to dump M1 sequences onto the PCM card slot, and then load that into a laptop with a compatible slot, but I don't know if the m1 was using a universal format (as the Triton series does) that can be read as .smf files.

Get Logic to run from the midi clock of the M1

You need to make sure the M1 is sending that stuff maybe on a menu somewhere

Hit record on Logic and record in the midi as one part, or vice versa - not sure which one will trigger which the best - need to experiment

Use the 'explode' function to turn the new sequence into a bunch of new sequences on their own channels

Alternatively there may be some kind of MIDI sequence dump thing on the M1

Can't remember really - quite a while since I used one too!

To add...

That "explode" function is "Demix by event channel". Select the recorded sequence in Arrange and select Functions / Split/Demix by event channel.

Make sure you create your destination tracks first, otherwise Logic might not create the most intuitive split.
