yes, it happens to me sometimes. its wierd. I press save and force quit it.
i think it has to do with the HArddrive being unmounted inporperly being via network drive or a external drive. so PT is trying to look for that drive.

at least for me its when this happens.

yeah assertion errors have plagued PT for awhile now...I think everybody who has it should have this program....

http://web.mac.com/jcdeshaies/iWeb/D...Bienvenue.html

All you do is run it, then empty trash, then retart....

You're Right Protools is an Error, It should have never been created... The solution to you problems, Move to Sonar 6 or Cubase 4 ... Trust me you'll be happy you don't have to deal with any limitations such as 32track limit

I'm completely new to Pro Tools and am getting the same problem. Could you explain what this means to a beginner?

every harddrive gets the "digidesign database" folder. quit pro tools and delete every database folder on your harddrives root level.

Last time I checked, PT HD was much more capable than Sonar or Cubase...note the OP doesn't suggest he uses LE, you're just assuming that. This error has cropped up on HD systems too.

But when my clients and the rest of the industry decides to switch to Sonar on PC, I'll follow. Until then, I'm happy with PT thanks.

yea

see thats why i still use 6.9... has its bugs, but at least i can go through endless sessions without it crashing or doing somethin like this... i hate how digi does these fake upgrades like microsoft... they add a couple lights and buttons, but they still dont fix the core coding problems. cant wait to get rid of the PT POS.
