Thread Starter | G5 Digital Audio Connection
I have a G5 2.0 DP and am looking for some options to utilize the optical digital audio in and out ports. Are there any AD/DA devices that would be a direct connect for the S/PDIF Toslink connectors? I was looking at the Blue / Focusrite bundles for some simple narration use for this stand-alone workstation. Unfortunately it looks like the 24-bit/96kHZ A/D card has an RCA connector. Adapter? Would I be better off sticking with the Firewire route? I heard that S/PDIF is not a balanced signal and may not work at certain cable lengths. Anyone know what sampling rate the G5 is capable of with this connection? Thanks ! |

Thanks. It looks like I can get higher sampling freqs by having the G5 do the clocking although overall it may not be the best. Anyone know or have tried any directly connected devices to the G5 ? |
