| Company offers PCI to PCIe adapter. This would help out alot of pci UAD people without going Magma Chassis and its only $50. Anyone else heard of this thing? http://www.io.com/~jsm/nph-ap.cgi/ht...rUrl=Translate |

| looks like that adapter is only going to work properly with low profile PCI cards - a full height card is gonna stick out of the side of the case |

Some folks on the UAD forum tried that box without much success. UAD Forums :: View topic - new Magma alternative - 200 Euros ! I seem to remember someone on planetz.com trying to get one of those boxes to work with their scope cards, also without success. | |

| The 4 sloter does NOT work with more than 1 UAD card. The uad's flip out and can't find the auth chip or somthing. 1 UAD works fine with it though. My information is second hand but fairly reliable from users at the UAD forum that have bought it. |

| Well I've gone and done it. I purchased a DCT-FUTA1 from VirtuaVia. I have determined that a full size PCI UAD-1 card will NOT extend outside the extents of a standard clone PC case. - That's my story and I am sticking to it until the card arrives and I am proven wrong. The photo below is nearly 1:1 To my calculations and a measuring tape, the UAD-1 will stick up 5 inches give or take a half an inch from the motherboard with 1.5 inches to spare. As far an securing the UAD-1 card, I'll Mcgiver whatever is necessary. I'll let you all know how it goes. :Ron ![]() |

| I "expect" this little card to arrive any day. VirtuaVia is a company in France. I'm in the states. My order says "Order Sent" - Whatever that means. I'm cautiously optimistic that that means sent to me! And not a request from Digital Cowboy (Japan) to go find one and ship it to me. It is my understanding that Digital Cowboy had discontinued this unit so I'm hopefull that VirtuaVia has a stash of them. I found VirtuaVia Sales folk.....Rude. I asked questions like with the current exchange rates how much will it be. While this may have been a lame question to ask them, their response was "Do it Yourself". - Really. I'm going to send them a Dale Carnigee book when this is over. So we wait. You all will know when I do. :Ron |

| I went to the mail box today and I've got it. I found a dead PC here with PCI-e slots (It's a computer shop here). **** Full Size PCI cards fit inside a CLONE CASE on a DCT-FUTA1 with ease!!!***** With 3/4" to spare!! I'll post PICS to prove it and test the UAD-1 tonight!! Know that the little bugger was $111.00 bucks after the exchange rate and all. :Ron |

It Fits with about a 1/2" to spare! ![]() What could go wrong? ![]() Hey Good news the UAD-1 is found! Whew..... ![]() Ahh... Happy Device Manager. ![]() Ready to Rock! ![]() So there you have it. The DCT-FUTA1 is a great product for uad-1 cards. And my computer case closed just fine and this case is closed also. Bye for now. :Ron |

| That would be fairly easy to figure out. The measurement from the screw holes on the card brackets to the extents of a run of the mill PC clone case are the same. Measure one of those then compare that to your mac. The UAD has about 1/2" of clearence on a PC case. |
