Unhappy How do you deal with IRQ Sharing, ACPI, Standard PC, MPS Multiprocessor, etc ????

I'm having problems with clicks, pops, connection drops, buffer errors, latencies, everything you can imagine, with my 002.
All this problems are always present when i go the ACPI route.

I did a test last night with Standard PC & MPS Multiprocessor, and all my problems with hardware buffer disappeared.

Does anyone know a definitive solution to this?...

If i go the "Standard PC" route, all my power functions are disabled, my CPU gets horribly hot, and i get the "It's now safe to turn off you computer" screen.

I think this a very HIGH price to PAY, in other to solve all hardware problems.

How do you deal with all this stuff?

thanks in advance

On modern DAWs you shouldn't have to switch to "Standard PC" anymore--ACPI should work fine.

In Windows Device Manager make sure your audio interface card is sitting on its own IRQ. If the IRQ is shared with other devices you may get pops/clicks. Try opening your PC, taking out the audio card, and moving it to another slot. Repeat as necessary, until Device Manager shows the audio card has its own IRQ, or shares an IRQ with as few other devices as possible.

Sounds silly, but it worked like a champ for me.
