Can't believe Carillon PCs have this problem!

Hi fellow Gearslutz!
I'm really concerned about some problems my new Carillon Pc is having with a SIMPLE device like a MIDI synth ( Access Virus in this case..).
I tried to contact the assistance, but no reply, so I hope someone here could tell me something about it..
My Pc is the AC-1 D, flagship dual core model, and when I recieved it, I noticed a very good stability and vst-handling power..
I recently bought a Virus analog modelling synthesizer, and I therefore installed my old, trusty Maudio Midisport 4x4 , so I can use my midi master keyboard AND the Virus keyboard..
I downloaded most recent drivers on Maudio webpage, installed it, but when I tried to record some midi notes on cubase, it CRUSHED and simply I had to restart the program.
I tried to play the Virus from my other master keyboard, and recorded it.. no problems..BUT when I touched some knobs on the midi..crushed AGAIN!
It doesn't happens when I play some vst with the other master keyboard, but it seems like my Cubase doesn't like to record any external midi device..
Are there some ways or options I could try before getting MAD for a MIDI problem in DEDICATED audio PC??
Thanks in advance..

Solo

It's Access's Virus fault, not the PC....
I have the Virus for almost 2 years and after so many update, it never work right in sync or stable... better use the Virus stand alone
The Virus was the biggest dissapointment purchase

How is the VIrus hooked up to the computer ? Midi only ? Is the master keyboard on the Midisport as well or does it have it's own midi connection?

Cubase should'nt crash playing a few midi notes. That really is almost impossible.
The midi driver for the midi sport should be ultra stable by now. Adding a midi interface should'nt have any impact on stability whatsoever. That's just redicoulus.

Do you have another midiinterface to try with ? Beg/steal/borrow one if not.

Is it a Virus TI ? If so,have you tried to hook that up with USB instead of midi?

Keep bugging Carillion. Don't accept no for an answer. This is one reason why you pay the big bucks for a specialist music computer. To have someone to phone when the shit hits the fan.

Sorry but this is either a missunderstanding or the biggest crap I have ever read in this forum.

If you are talking Virus TI, yes there where issues, but its working very well now.

If you are not talking Virus TI, then it is just wrong.
The Virus doesn't anymore then sending harmless midinotes to the midisport. this is definitly not the viruses fault but the midisport's.

Or maybe the Virus is sending some midiencrypted computercrash viruses through the midiprotocoll?? :-) seriously, absolute nonsense.

Haha. Awesome.

Anyways... have you tried driver / firmware / Cubase / OS updates?
