Axiom 49 Controlling Logic With Midi Messages

Im having the hardest time getting my Axiom 49 to controll logic with midi messeges. I can control everything with the use of the key command editor but Im in the dark when it comes to actually setting up a midi setup. What I really want to do is to be able to have multiple software instruments open in logic and then have the Axiom switch between the virtual instruments using midi channels and such. If anyone can shed some light on this for me it would be much appreciated. Thanks
