Tritone now has a FREE version of COLORTONE and PHASETONE

Tritone just released a free version (much downscaled of course) of their awesome colortone pro plug. It still uses the tube convolutions but isn't very customizable. Also they have a plug called PHASETONE, haven't checked it out yet, probably very cool, given their track record.

Here are the links:

TriTone Digital - For The Love of Tone!

TriTone Digital - For The Love of Tone!

Unfortunately you have to install Pluggo Runtime - here is the link

Cycling '74 || Download pluggo

Are any of those pluggo plugs any use at all - they give you 50 or something, it seems like a chore to go through them all - personally I don't seem to have enough time figure out how to get the most out of what I have... but who knows, could be something good hiding in there!

Also, can I delete those pluggo dll's without screwing anything up?

Those who own the real thing, let us know how close the sounds from the same convolutions on yours. Also how is the DSP hit in comparison? Thanks.

Yes the free ones have been out for ages. In fact I believe colortone free was out before the pro one even existed.

As far as pluggo you should have installed the runtime version, thats just the part that the tritone stuff needs without all the pluggo plugins.

So I guess it's old news, didn't see it when I searched for colortone threads, I guess I didn't go far enough back... yeah at the top right hand corner of that link it says 'Pluggo Runtime' however if you click that the url doesn't change. So for clarity:

Here's the XP runtime link http://www.cycling74.com/download/pluggoruntime361.zip

And Mac
http://www.cycling74.com/download/pluggoruntime361.dmg

Here is a great thread that compares the two and answers most of my questions. This forum has so much great advise, got to love it!

ColorTone

An older thread about PhaseTone Plug

Oops, my bad... still it's good for people who still haven't heard of these free plugs.
