Anyone who know how to use an iLok?

-I have the Oxford plugins for my powercore card
-New native plugin updates are free but requires iLok
-I have an iLok
-I have registred an account at iLok.com
-Sony website says must autorize plugins AFTER installing them
-The updated native plugin installers says iLok must be athourized BEFORE I install to run these plugins.
-There is no place at sonyplugins.com to register licenses for my iLok
-There is no place at iLok.com to register licenses.

I would sincerely like to kill anyone who is responsible for the creation of the iLok system, preferably burning them to death and torturing them. What is wrong with these people?

WHERE THE HELL DO I AUTHORIZE MY PLUGINS FOR THAT GOD DAMN PIECE OF SHIT ILOK? Is it an application I download, do I send an email, do I do it from the plugins, from a website....there is no god damn information on this anyware and and sooo tired of looking!!

It's obviously NOT at sonyplugins.com neither ilok.com

Cant these frakking idiots just make it easy......

If this is what I get for paying for plugins then screw it, perhaps I should fire up a P2P client and start downloading cracked pirate copied versions instead....

GOD DAMN IT

The way iLok works is a license is sent to your iLok account. You then plug-in your iLok, login to the website (www.ilok.com) sync your iLok with your account and download the licenses to your iLok (there's a link that says "you have licenses" if there are licenses available to download to your iLok).

On Sony's site, after registering and downloading the plug-ins, you should've put in your iLok username (this is your account name) and the licenses should be there waiting for you. If they are not, contact Sony's support staff and they will take care of you right away. These guys are great for support and respond very quickly in my experience.

Good luck. Hope that helps you out!

"Where" exactly should I put my iLok usernam?

Whenever trying to run a plugin I'm asked to start the authorisation.... then i'm asked to "insert the license card"...what is a "lincense card" and where do I "insert" it?

i think with the Sony plugins you should have a serial number you need to enter at sonyplugins.com before they deposit the asset(s) into your iLok account.

check to see if you have a serial number and if you can use that.

hope this helps,

the license card is for certain plugins, i don't think Sony uses it.
you insert the license card(s) into the actual iLok itself.

Shure, have the serial, have no clue where to enter it, though....

I do find a "upgrade powercore versions to native ilok version for 25£ each". But the guyes at the Powercore forum say they got it for free just by downloading updated plugs....., I don't get it.....jeeez...what happened to just making music?

I like ilok, quite a bit actually
once you have the license you have it, no command, reponse bullshit

it really cannot be simpler, and if you have a system crash, you will be up and running in no time

it's portable, your licenses to all your plugs can go with you
it's secure so the companies who work hard and have good code have their ass protected and might actually be around for awhile seeing as how they get paid for their work

you register the plugs w said company, they deposit the license in your account, you download the license to your ilok

scary, you might need to read some instructions along the way, it's all there

this is not rocket science

create ilok account, some plugs come with a card that you insert in the ilok, some companies send the "asset" to your ilok account

just out of curiousity what daw do you use?
I mean you think ilok is complicated try a spin w samplitude

good luck!!

I started to use my first iLok a couple of days ago.

And managed to get access to the Sony Oxford Limiter demo.

How should I proceed to get the real version?

I also tried to activate the EMI Chandler TG limiter demo, but I failed.

Anyone who knows how to do that. Now the demo is not activated
or as stated on my iLok account "already expired".

But I guess I probably have not really activated it??
There are no really clear instruction on the Chandler site.

TIA

C/R or iLok or other dongles are always a pain in the ass.

Fortunately I have a nice dealer, he has my iLok user/password and fixes trial versions, registrations etc. for me.

I simply log in and press the "Synchronize" button.
