Randy Staub Kick drum sound...

hate him or love him i alwyas pick something out of every mixer that i like the most. in randy staubs case i love the kick sounds he uses on these records:

3 Doors Down Away From The Sun
Nickelback All The Right Reasons
Simple Plan Still Not Getting Any
Hinder Extreme Behavior

theres are very commerical pop rock you could say sounding records. im not judging the music just the sounds.

I love the kicks, they cut through really well and dont drown out the bass or anthing else in the mix, thier subby but yet have a great attack as well. ive been struggling with this latley and im never quite happy with my kick sounds whether, natrual recorded kick or augmented with a sample im a drummer and i havent been totaly satisfied with how the kick cuts through the mix. if anyone has any info on how mr staub mixes his kicks please reply to this.

thanks and let the music live on.

rock on gs.

He has 2 to 3 samples he made with Bob that he throws in......1 has the low end sub punch, on has the overall punch and one has the top end he likes.........he uses them to augment the original kik sounds...
