Unhappy logic express input problem! help

ok so I've got logic express which allows only 12 simultaneous inputs to be recorded, which is fine for what I want. What I didn't realize is Logic only lets you choose from the first 12 inputs on your interface.

I have a Motu 896HD which has inputs 1-8 analogue, inputs 9-11 AES and inputs 12 - 20 as adat. Trouble is I don't use the AES but would ideally like to use my 8 adat inputs with 4 of the analogue, at the moment the AES is in the way letting me only use 8 analogue and a couple of adat.

so my question is, is there anyway to select inputs higher than 12 in express or a way to re-order my motu inputs so the ones i actually use are in the first 12. I don't need any of the features logic pro offers so i don't want to spend all that money.

thanks for your help

I'm afraid you don't have any options to access your adat i/o with logic express. I had the same problems with my motu 828 & decided to go with Logic Pro. Good luck!

Just a shot in the dark here...and I haven't used Logic, but if you use the audio/midi setup, can you deselect the the others inputs and make them inactive?

I use a mout 2408Mkiii and a 1296 with a pci424 and DP, and you can go in and check or uncheck each input (pair), but I don't know if the firewire boxes come with the same software.

Good luck, hope this helps.

Sorry about that, I got the name confused. For the pci interfaces, motu interfaces ship with a PCI Console application. I don't know if anything ships like that with firewire or not. Have you tried browsing the Motu support pages?
