| mac pro ram So I bought a pair of THIS RAM from macsales.com for my mac pro. I installed it, then my computer started randomly crashing and I ran some memory tests and determined that my new ram was defective.. Anybody know where to buy some ram that will work? I went to apple.com but it takes 4 weeks to ship and is $500, which is about 2 times the price anywhere else... any info is appreciated, thanks. |

| First of all make sure that your new RAM is properly seated. And that you added matched DIMMS in sets of 4 Two to the upper riser, two to the lower riser. Apple's RAM slots are very close tolerance and sometimes you really need to push hard to get the DIMMS seated all the way. OWC (macsales) is a very reputable vendor. If there's a problem with your RAM they will replace it immediately.

| This is where I got mine. I bout 4 2 gig sticks. I thought it was the most reasonable with good specs and the correct heatsinks. Apple approved as well. http://www.datamemorysystems.com/AMM22.asp
