Thought you all should hear about this one. To any of you FX heads out there who find yourselves feeling limited by your plugins interface or sick of manually multing and sending to this bus and that just to get that special routing and automation you may be after - I suggest you look into this new and amazing plugin - sorry but it is PC only atm. Energy XT - is for vsti's. Energy XTE - is for vst effects. I have been beta testing XTE for several days now and am very very happy. I was feeling lost in the doldrums for a while with my native fx - and had been dreaming of a plugin with this sort of functionality for some time now. It's been godsend. Here is a brief explanation of what it does. It is a vst plugin that is meant to receive midi data from your host. It acts as a host for all the vst effects you already have - it has mixer - lfo's - arps - envelopes - and all types of smart functions for manipulating your vst's. You can load in 5 different fx for example - have your original signal lead into XTE - then have this signal crossfade between these 5 effects , the crossfading could be triggered by a tempo synched envelope which in turn will have been triggered from your sequencers midi arrangement leading to XTE - then you could assign a series of envelopes or whatever else you want(arps - lfos - 3rd party midi FX ala tobybear or smartelectronix) - to parameters in these fx. Gosh - there are too may possibilities really - but If you are in need of an Eventide VSIG type functionality for your VST's I highly recommended this. With this I have been able to breath fresh fx into my tracks - things i was having a pretty rough time working out before are really easy to route out and control with this. The beta is kinda buggy - but it is a public beta so no harm testing and suggesting. There is also an older version available for purchase and the price is very friendly at only $40. The interface is sleek and well laid out; especially considering that it is still in it's very early stages. It takes some figuring out - but if you are good with any modular audio systems you will be pretty at home here. The coder Jorgen is amazing and is fast at adding requested functionality. Public beta and more links/info can be found here: http://www.xt-hq.com/ Cheers!
