I'm in the same boat, can't get answers, don't trust sales guys at music sites, etc I might:

1) do a BLA mod to my 002r but then can't trade up when Digi gives us the super-duper 004
2) might get an Apogee Mini-Me, mic pres and converters, a little more than the mod
3) get the Mini-Me, keep it and see how the 004 sounds, can always sell the MM

don't you hate it when you can't get answers???

I have a 1814.

Got a huge dissapointment when i saw that i couldn't choose "64 samples" in H/W buffer. ( Low latency monitoring isn't available either ).

The unit feels like plastic. i'm about to sell it and get a 002 after 126 mistakes i've done with hardware purchase.

Still afraid about the converters. I don't know if i'm doing right.

The word clock thing on the 002, keeps me thinking all the time too.

I'm not kidding, i've tried like 122 words combination in google.

002r 1814 convertors
002 1814 convertors
002r fw18 convertors
002 fw18 convertors
002r 1814 converters
002 1814 converters
002r fw18 converters
002 fw18 converters
002r 1814 ---- using the words ( a/d, adc and quality )
002 1814 ---- using the words ( a/d, adc and quality )
002r fw1814 ---- using the words ( a/d, adc and quality )
002 fw1814 ---- using the words ( a/d, adc and quality )

all of the above, using digi002, digi002r, digi002rack.

and i read every single page from page 01 to the last one.

I found like 3 or 4 comments of people. but they were very vague.

I do this every time i need an answer, using every possible combination.
