Is it normal to have to use the PF control panel to change the buffer size ?

I´m used to MBox where I could change the buffer size inside ProTools but with the PF, I can´t. If I want to change the buffer size I have to quit the software ( Wavelab,Nuendo, PTMP ) and change it in the control panel but with PTMP, it doesn´t change when I reopen PT so I can´t change the buffer size in PTMP !!!! in any way. Now I´m sticked to 128 wich is not bad for recording but not enough for some mixing and there´s no way I can change it.

Is that the way it works ?

I´ve been fighting with this thing and made some conclusions:

With PTMP I can´t change the buffer size even if closing PTMP, change it in the control panel and reopening again, while this way works with other software. In Wavelab I can change it if I launch the control panel from within Wavelab ( wich is the way it should be inside PTMP )

The only way I can change the Buffer size is uninstalling PTMP, set the buffer size I want in the control panel and install the PTMP again!! This way PTMP respects the setting but can´t change it anymore if I don´t uninstall PTMP.

I have trashed the DAE prefs and PT prefs, I have taken out the PFLB from the Windows sound devices, I have moved all the plug-ins to unused, I have drunk 100 coffes and smoked 1000 cigarrettes.

I also have talked to customer support but they don´t know yet if that´s a bug or not. They´ve been very kind but it looks like I´m the first user of this set up

Any PFLB and PTMP users on XP ?

Thanks

Hey !

We have a thread going that could help you solve some of the PFLB problems. Check out: So Much Gear So Little Time > Everyone having problems with a Profire Lightbrdge...

There is a M-Audio tech guy helping us there! His name is Calvin. It will hopefully be a great source of solutions. At least go there at post your issues so they can work on them. Just be sure to give DETAILED INFORMATION about every aspect of your setup (clocking, signal flow of audio and sync, OS version, driver version, and on and on.) It is very important to include these details.

Good luck with this frustrating piece of gear...
