PC madness

Hi!

My old Music Computer -sorry- sucks... (it's a P4 3,06HT, first with an ASUS p4t533 + rambus, now with an ASUS p4c800-e dlx: glitches, pops, midi timing problems (unitor 8)... with activated hyperthreading, cubase glitches when scrolling...)

I want to make music and don't want to worry about computer problems, so I need a new one: It should be under 1000€, must be rock stable, silent, features: serial port, dual or triple head graphics card, three pci slots, intel cpu...
I prefer using hardware synthesizers, so i don't need a state-of-the-art pc...

After these experiences with Asus Boards, i'm frightened in buying a new Asus board (for example P5B-E plus)... what about that? I've heard many recommendations regarding intel boards.

So which components would you choose?

Thanks,

Volker

PS: greetz to george a.k.a. tagwohl :D
