best plug in for time stretch/compression

i need to buy a better time stretch/compress plugin, mostly to stretch or compress samples (hip hop mostly), and also to do a little tempo adjustment on final songs that are allready mixed. does anyone have any suggestions for some good plugins?????

I don't trust any and usually drive myself bonkers by going with the manual style.
Chop by quarters, eighths or sixteenths. Unnatural, sure, but changing tempos isn't natural without replaying it either. And it doesn't get any of that strange noise degradation. Go stir crazy like acting in a Kubrick flick.

For f'cksake double decker - are you the High End police???

Given that time stretching is a purely digital process - and the most powerful algorithmns are best implemented as an offline process rather than realtime - then obviously the most High End solution will be software, not hardware.

If the search for the ultimate time stretching software is not 'high end', I don't know what 'high end' is.

Software can be highend.
Analog hardware can be arse end.

Get over it.

Ok, i will say it loud and clear.
I'm from the High End National Guard reserves.
We get to be called up on matters of High End security when regular force is being outnumbered and getting massacred out there.
I dont remember myself mentioning anything about hardware or software so i dont know why you jumped on it.
I tink he is gonna get much more response in the computer section.
If the search for ultimate timestretch software is high end to you, then i have to agree with what you've said.
