Can Digi003 be used as external D/A converters to HD?

Hey folks,

Does anybody know if you can do this? It comes with BNC word clock connectors but it's not clear if you could use the box as stand alone converters. Not that that is THE reason I would buy it but it would be added incentive if I knew it offered me 8 more D/A converters at 96k when needed.

Any help is much appreciated.

Why would I want 8 more channels of D/A conversion from my HD setup? Hmmm, so that I could have more than my current 16 channels of D/A. Is that a radical thought?

Why would you not just buy new converters, like lucid or something if you are worried about the price. The DA on the 003 is sub par, they released a new unit with word clock and crappier pres. This is just my opinion. I am still confused at why you would want to do this.

Because an HD reqires an HD compatable interface and a 003 is not a compatable interface.

Thank you! This was the answer I was looking for. Interesting that folks seem more interested in talking about what a dumb idea it is rather than answering the question. I'm seeing that more and more around here these days. Perhaps there is an assumption that most posts are made by newbies who dont make records for a living?

Where did all those fun and exciting Digi 003 threads go? It's like they just disappeared.
