audio interfaces that are KNOWN to work running boot camp (XP) (intel-based mac pro)

I'm having issues with my Alesis MultiMix 8 (Firewire)... It shows up as a firewire device without a problem, but it doesn't show up in the Sound and Audio Devices dialog box in XP nor in Cubase.

I AM able to connect devices to it's inputs and hear sound through my monitors but I am unable to assign the MultiMix as the default sound device (no ability to record or play back from DAW, obviously).

I'm looking for people's experiences using their audio interfaces while running Boot Camp (Windows XP Home)... I have 10 days to take the MultiMix back and I'd like to exchange it for an interface that has drivers which will actually work with Boot Camp.

I had the same problem with my RME Fireface 400. Couldn´t solve it and gave up! But at least now you know, you´re not alone with that problem

I tried 3 interfaces:

- MBox 2
- Emu 0404
- Presonus Firebox

Problems with all of them - gave up, building a PC.

I you're going to be running Pro-Audo Apps and interfaces in Windows, get a PC.Running bootcamp is fine for word processing etc, but I wouldn't trust running any pro stuff on it.
When I was looking at a new laptop, no-one could guarntee that everyhtign I run in Windows would work on a Macbook Pro.

BTW, my 2 audio intefraces (M-Audio Transit and irebox) both run fine on my PC laptop running OSX.

plus, you might find you like having more than one mouse button.

Although, if God meant for us to use more than one mouse button, he would have given us more than one finger.

Running nothing but "pro apps" here under BC. I couldn't be happier with my set up. Bootcamp isn't running XP in some type of shell app (like parallels). You're running the same XP that you would on any other PC. I'm using an 002 rack. Incidentally, I do all my word processing, invoicing, etc on the mac side.

Running
Nuendo 3
A bunch of virtuals, plugs, VSTis, etc3
VST to RTAS adapter
my personal favorite--> Half-Life2 Death Match.

Have you guys tried installing this patch:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Quite a few people have been lucky with it I've heard.

At least regarding:
Alesis MultiMix16 Firewire
Presonus Firebox
Tascam FW-1804

Cheers,

running Nuendo, mixing a broadcast show on a Mac Pro under BootCamp. Using a FireFace 800 flawlessly. Super fast.

Running Nuendo 3 with a 002R rack for playback of sequenced stuff/clicks/TC for a live event , it is running fine.

The only thing I found was that it is picky about the order of the firewire chain, it prefers to be computer-002R-HD, If I have the HD in the middle somwtimes it works, sometimes it dosent.

If your interface is not appearing in the Sounds and Audio Devices try this;

Control Panel - Administrative tools - Services - scroll down to windows audio and make sure it's started and set it to automatic

Cheers

Using a Bootcamped Core2duo iMac with Maudio Profire Lightbridge. No problems on either OS once I got a handle on some i/o and clocking issues. These issues had nothing to do with the OS or bootcamp, rather, they are inherint with a multi-channel all digital box like the lightbridge. Good to have a speaker off switch when rebooting otherwise ...ouch speakers and ears.
