Thread Starter | Best firewire interface for a laptop,Focusrite Saffire PRO 26 vs. Presonus Firestudio
Hello All, I am preparing to invest in a firewire interface to be used on my mobile recording projects. I am interested in a device, which provides: 8 analog inputs w/ quality mic preamps, midi I/O, instrument and line inputs, etc. At this time I am looking at the Focusrite Saffire PRO 26 and the Presonus Firestudio. My biggest concern is whether there will be any compatibility issues between my laptop, software and the new interface. I have heard some horror stories about other Focusrite Saffire units that have caused issues for windows-based laptops, and I hope to avoid any known problems. Please let me know if you have had any experiences with the abovementioned interfaces. Thanks in advance! ![]() My current setup: HP Laptop with an AMD Athlon 3200 64 Processor, Windows XP SP2 Home Edition, Cubase SX 3 |
