I installed garageband and I'ts amazing

This is not so much a review as an observation I guess. Garageband for what it is, is amazing. The software instruments are stunning. I can go so far as to say that this is the best roland synth that roland never made if you catch my drift. The acoustic guitars are like nothing I have ever heard from a sample playback synth. the piano's, drum kits and basses are all top notch. and you know what? if you look at the sequencer as a scratch pad than it is very useful. Anyone remember when the korg M1 came out? that keyboard changed things. Garageband will have the same impact. If I were other music software companies, I would be very worried right about now. This thing has waaaay to much power to not be the basis and the beginning for something totally new, radical and utterly mind blowing in the pro audio field. garageband is setting the stage for for whatever is next. Of this their can be no doubt.

Wrong. We announced that future versions of Logic will be able to use AppleLoops.

considering apple owns logic now. why wouldnt it be able to?

but how about doing something about logics ugly skin? i couldnt look at it for long enough to enjoy using it... i know it shouldnt matter THAT much, but i guess it does for me. where protools was [is] pretty utilitarian, logic is outright alien.

I think you'll find that if you watch the movies, these plugins are in Logic - that's what's being demo'ed.

Can I also welcome - Markus, I think this shows the quality of this site.

GB came on my ImacG5 for free...I believe you will see things tracked by people at home in GB, then taken to a pro studio for further processing in either Logic Pro 7 and/or PT. In any event, I think we will soon see tracks done in GB end up on pro records...

All we need now is a Universal Database that helps with all the housekeeping chores, "who, what, when, where, how" that works for all the DAWs and is the standard for all the studios in the world.

This would be something that Apple should do, Apple's great at setting and enforcing good standards, and we will all have to keep records and vital info about all the nitty gritty details of the way the tracks were done, but Apple could set a standard, develop an input form, and insure that both GB and Logic were included and covered in the Universal Audio Database Standard...and Apple is also great with GUI's...Apple is in the best position to set the standard for the Universal Audio Database...

YMMV

Wow, this GB app is quite a bit better than I orginally gave it credit for...it even comes standard with a multi-band comp...
