VocAlign Pro or Project

The difference is $400. Is it worth it? I've got a project right now with a bunch of kids doing individual vocal tracks and I need to grab one of these. I hate to spend $300 now, only to figure out I need the full blown version later.

Does anyone have any real world experience with the 2 versions? Thanks, as always.

PRO is a protools plugin - http://www.synchroarts.com/products/...rotools-V4.asp
PROJECT is the stand along version IIRC

Can I suggest you give the FREE TRIAL versions a try ? alternatively give them a call, they are a small company and very, very helpful. I'm confident they'll make sure you get the correct version.

I use the Pro version in ProTools and it is absolutely brilliant. I mainly use it for lining up BV's. Fast and easy to use.

Cool

i used both.

if you are in pro-tools its as easy like ,put your AS plug on the track and select witch 1 is de source and the destanasion. and your click align and your done.

with the stand alone you got to consoladate your files and then inport them in project and align them. import them back in your DAW. mutch more work

That's funny. On the Digi website, it describes VocAlign Project as an AudioSuite plugin for use in PT. I haven't used it for years. Not since PT version 5. That's the way it worked back then, but I don't recall there being a Project and a Pro version. There is nothing on the Digi website to indicate that this is a standalone version. In fact, it says in the data sheet that PT is required, as this is an AudioSuite plugin.

Who's got the REAL story?

I have VocAlign project for ProTools. It is definately a Audio Suite plug-in and it works very well. My gripe with it, is that its copy protection is nuts. I only use it once every few months and its like it times out and requires re-authorization. I'm not sure what I'm doing to make it lose it's authorization. I've authorized it several times, you have to wait to hear back from Syncro Arts, and by the time I'm authorized I've already moved past what I wanted it for. Right now the copy I paid for wont work until I find the time to geek it out. I understand the Pro version uses the iLok. Great, too bad it cost so much more for a couple of cool new features.

Steve I hear you about the copy protect, there IS a ilok version SA does not tell anyone about it AFIK it is ONLY availble with DV Toolkit 2 so I am sure if you beg, plead, cry hard enough about and be a pain in the ass ... they may give it to you.
