| I have not heard the track, but. How about drawing a nice square wave in volume automation or use a gate with a soft synth/drum module in the side chain, then you can do all sorts of wierd rythms if you want. there are also different plugins available that do sample chop and re-triggering randomly or user defined. There is a freeware available but I forgot the name, Audiodamage also has one, but I havent tried it. |

| Most studdering plugins use "random" parameters to give crazy results. There are some good ones on the PC I am not sure about Mac. You will find most artists do them manually.. it is just about learning to edit. They are not that hard and you can make them just how you want them with edits. Well.. Reaktor has a module that does something similar.. and Ableton Live has the Beat Repeater. I have not used Phatmatik Pro much and it is based on drums but you maybe can do some studdering with it on other things. Someone needs to make the word "s t u t t e r" not be a face icon. ![]() |

| There's always the old skool way to do it... load it into a keyboard or other triggerable sampler. You can have a lot of fun by playing different parts of the sample, different lengths and rhythms... you can have a real 80s fest. I used to load different parts of a given phrase into different ranges on the keyboard so I could cut back and forth starting in different places.

| I don't know of plugins for this, but the effect is very easy to achieve with any basic audio sequencer. Split, copy, paste repeat before the phrase, maybe automate some filter cutoff, volume, panning. In my mind, it would be harder to do with a plugin...but I'm no expert. On Live, it's even less labor intensive. Hey, this is my 100th post (since May '05)...not exactly prolific. Last edited by onion; 4th March 2009 at 05:45 AM.. Reason: marking a milestone |

| "Lucifer" by Devine Machine was great for that. You must try "Replicant" and "Automaton" by Audio Damage : Audio Damage :: Effects Also "Effectrix" and "Artillery 2" by Sugar Bytes : Sugar Bytes In "Live" there is an internal plug : Beat Repeat. I'm still using my H3000D/SE sometime for that thumbsup |

| theres lots of ways of making these stutter effects You could put your vocal in your favorite sampler and draw the stutter via midi notes. like said above sugar bytes Electrix can do this effect , just automate the wet/dry knob to where you want the stutters. Theres also a really noval way of doing this in propellerhead reason , below is a video tutorial i made sometime back , around the 4:30 mark you'll hear some cool vocal stutter effects. |

| you can do a sort of 'take' by using a simple plugin such as soundforge /wavelab time-stretch at extreme slow setting or any other requiring you to 'play' the plugin and then record the output either in your host, or out into another recording software.

| In Ableton you can drop the word into Impulse and draw via MIDI like a drum pattern. |
