| Try less reverb or even none at all. Sounds like an in your face song. Try to melt the vocal energy with the rest of the instruments to create one driving force. Possibly a little chorus (just a tiny bit) on the vocals to see if it fits... Michael EDIT: just saw this post is from february. It's time to go to bed. :) |

| Speaking of the drums, are those samples? If so what program and samples did you use? |

| dude... sounds like a pretty good start.. but i agree that you have wayyyy tooo much reverrrrb... also i thought i picked up a few flat notes from the singer.. and yes--the drummer sounds like "animal" on the muppets right now.. he's (or she) going for the gusto... |

| Lives for gear | I would take off the reverb on the first part of the song, where he sings over the "drum solo" ![]() To me it's fine during the rest of the song. I liked the guitar tone a lot, what was used? I would lower the samples a little bit and bring the organic drums a little louder. |

| definitely the drums were a programmed performance, mayb been sound replaced and velocities tweaked. i dont think many people will be able to tell to be honest tough, im really impressed with how they came up! What were some things you used? |

| Overall, not bad... But yeah, the reverb on the voc is stylistically inappropriate, especially is the less dense sections of the mix. The rhythm guitars sound good in and of themselves, but in the mix I'm afraid they're a bit too dense, lack definition and cloud things up. You're going in the right direction, but It needs some finishing touches for sure. The violin-ish lead sound at the top is also too wet, and I'd invert it's relationship with the rhythm guitars. They're just too dominant and bulky there. A lead should be a lead, and this one has the potential to be interesting, so milk it! I just don't understand why anyone would ever want to sing like that.... but to each their own. Regardless of taste, is their still a market for that vocal style? I thought the teeny-boppers had moved on already.

| I'm trying to be as objective as possible (although I do want to choke this singer and genre to death). I don't like the drums either. They are too busy. Something doesn't work with the distorted screaming parts. I like the guitars on this track (the mix). This song is all over the place. It's like "cute" happy, then really mad, then "interesting" shout sections. As far as style is concerned, I'd rather stab myself repeatedly with an HIV infected needle than have to be stuck on a four measure loop of this track spending five minutes correcting an EQ, but this mix is about 80% done. I'm not trying to be a jerk, I just really want to sacrifice kittens when I hear music like this. It makes me feel like I am in a Guitar Center. I will say that you're a great engineer though. And you are far braver than I am. I hope you get my sense of humor too.
