ORGY OF SLUTTY MODULATION PLUGS! (Mac AU universal binary)
I just did these the other day. New interpolation technology will make you go 'ooooh'

these are some of the sluttiest damn choruses out there, if not the sluttiest. Outslicks UA plugs, but native and (mostly) won't eat your CPU for breakfast. Of course some do anyway (*ahem* ensemble at 48 voices...)
I've got audio examples of everything, and all this up for sale at:
http://store.kagi.com/?6FEGJ_LIVE&lang=en
...and if you could go there right now, that would be great! All of Kagi is down at the moment (they were having a bit of server trouble earlier, they'll probably shit boulders in the morning) but I don't require them for the audio examples I promised- so here we go!
This is a recording of a bit of clean Strat, set on a tight loop, with the Vibrato plugin engaged. Right at the beginning it's dry and unprocessed. I bet you can't tell when the vibrato is switched in. Then it'll sound like I'm cheating by having someone wiggle the tremelo (ha! it's hardtail!) until the vibrato goes insane and turns to ring modulation. Then the FM operator goes into effect, then the depth is turned right down and I'm switching the effect in and out. Bet you can't hear that either... this is the interpolation technology that underlies every one of these plugs, and it's nice

This is more of the Strat recording, this time with the Flanger applied. Starts with two chords dry, then repeated with the flange to show the effect. Also, here's a drum clip with the flanger doing a slow sweep through null. Try this with any other plug.

Here's the Strat recording (it was a crap Strat copy with nice Fralins into an API hi-z in) with Chorus. Note the radical changes in rate without having to readjust depth. This one's real transparent in character.

This is the Chorus Ensemble- four taps instead of one. There's something to listen for that's a watch-out-for: towards the middle of the clip I adjust the rate so rapidly that minute popping sounds appear. That's due to the buffer lengths changing. I think it's also very obvious that it has a special sound to it- suited to guitar, Rhodes, what have you. Anything where you want a LOT of chorus sparklies.

Finally, the Ensemble was tough to demo, because a really tight ensemble of guitar isn't a typical sound. I ended up using a more likely sound for Ensemble- Nord Lead atmospheric pads. This is cranked out at 48 voices, things get more upfront and less washed out at less voices (plus- way less CPU- this is hammering the crap out of my Dual 2Ghz G5, almost total CPU usage). It's first a syn-sweep pad, and then one which includes a sort of THX-sound modulation on the mod wheel. You can hear that Ensemble helps a hell of a lot with producing that THX-ey effect, which ain't easy to get (the real one used mondo CPU too). This is a much better demonstration of what Ensemble is for, than if I ran a guitar into it.

Cheers! Kagi is still down as I post this! Argh! Hope you like the sounds
