Downsampling

What do you guys use that sounds best? I tried to export a mix at 44.1 in Nuendo and it sounded completely different.

Welcome to the club! I've been saying the same thing somewhere here on the forum! Few options:
1. All 'in the box' stuff (@ 48k, 96k etc.) out to an analog mixer, or summing box, (stems or such) back in the AD of HEDD 192 or any other good converter Dig out (44.1K) to CDR, Masterlink, Laptop comp (or any 2nd comp, but you'll need the digital in card of some sort and some basic recording software for your mix), etc.

2. Mix to analog (1/2 inch) 2 track machine and transfer the MIX back to Comp through some great converters, (although if you plan on releasing the stuff, may I suggest the PROFFESSIONAL Mastering directly from the 1/2 inch... this guys have amazing converters and such to make your 44.1k CD master... the best option by miles!).

3. You can try to record directly to a CDR wich has a real time SRC (sample rate conversion) from 48k to 44.1k, my HHB 800 CDR has and SRC sounds very OK...

There are probably many other options... so I hope someone else can post in some more

All the best!
