Question T-Racks on Master Buss

Is anyone using T-Racks on the Master Buss? I do all the time. I've tried many other compressor/limiter/softclipper and always found myself going back to T-Racks. I don't like the EQ though...

I've tried the SV-315 Mk2 Compressor, it's good for sure but maybe that's just me but I'm getting better results gluing with T-Racks.

no... and last year i "mastered" (i am NOT a M.E., just playing one on TV for a friend) some tracks that were mixed through T-Racks, and hated the sound.

that said, if it's working for you, and you're getting the desired result, don't listen to some yahoo like me on here!

now, get back to making music! thumbsup

I dont like the T-Racks plugin on the master buss. However, the standalone application can work wonders. it adds a nice polish to a well mixed song. I like the "gentle master 1" setting with a bump in the output gain (to clipping). I've tried to get the plugin to sound the same ...even with the same settings it doesnt come close.

It is psuedo mastering when you need it... but by no means will it replace a real mastering house.

the Sonalksis comp takes a little getting used to but i find i prefer it over just about every other plugin compressor for vocals AND on the 2buss.

there are so many settings it can be a bit daunting at first, but once you get the hang of it,

cheers.

I use t-racks on the master buss. I don't mix with it till the end. I try to get things rockin' first and then I sort of "check it" with t-racks. The one thing I really do like about the t-racks suite is the High pass side chain on the compressor that allows the low stuff to pass through to the limiter. Does Sonalksis have that? What I DON'T like on t-racks is the way you get some distortion... especially with vocals. I've tried to get around that, but can't seem to make it sound the way I want it to sound without a touch of distortion.

Oh you got me.

yes, I prefer the waves L2 or the Massey limiter for look ahead peak limiting - depending on the source.

Yes, I have used t-racks, and thought it sounded not good in that application.
