Thread Starter | Need An External Hard Drive For My G5/Pro Tools Rig. Suggestions? Advice?
Hi, I need to get an external hard drive for my G5/Pro Tools rig and I thought I'd ask here before delving into hardcore research. What brands should I be looking at. Any place you can suggest for great deals? Is there a $ per gb rule I should follow? Thanks!! |

i've had a few maxtor drives fail on me. no probs with seagate and western digital, though... if you're building a drive (the way to go, imo), make sure you buy a good external case. i usually look for firewire/usb2 combo enclosures made of aluminum with (quiet) built-in fans. the ams venus ds3 is great and it's only $35: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...MP=OTC-Froogle good luck!
