Question MacBook Pro and Magma PCMCIA adapter.

Hello

On pre MacIntel the Magma PCMCIA adapter installation was a completely driverless intallation.
I know that the new PCIe adaptor to run on Macbooks needs a driver to run, not on PC laptops btw.

Since Macbook Pro comes with the two connections, PCIe and PCMCIA, i begun to wonder if the PCMCIA adapter, which i own, is still a no brainer kind of thing with Apple laptops.

If anyone knows the answer i appretiate to listen to it.

Thank you.

For what it's worth, the MacBook Pros have an ExpressCard slot instead of the old PCMCIA slot. Magma does make an ExpressCard solution:

Perhaps you can use an ExpressCard interface with your current PCI card chassis?

thanks travis.
The magma i own works with express card too.
i understood the Macbook pro had both slots, PCMCIA and Express.
The express card needs drivers to work.
i need to know if the PCMCIA needs drivers too or is it just like pre intel Macbook pro which need none? kind of plug and play.

Bye.

Your PCMCIA card will not work with the new MCP. You'll have to get an Expresscard bus from magma.
That was one of the reasons I didn't get a MBP. I didn't want to have to spend the extra money to keep using my magma chassis.
