Plug-in to Convert Audio Track to MIDI?

I was just wondering if there is a plug-in (such as an Audiosuite plug-in) that could convert an audio track into a MIDI track. For example, taking a kick track and turning it into a MIDI track. I would think that transients would translate to MIDI pretty well. Also, I thnk that DP has some sort of function like this, but I'm not positive. Anybody know what's out there like this?

I believe Melodyne has a feature which may do that.

drumagog does it. I have never used it but a friend does all the time and swears by it.

Since you mention audiosuite I assume your using protools. Beat detective wich is included in pt will do this for you.

Well, I'm on 6.4 (001) so Beat Detective isn't an option; however, I did try Drumagog - and - well . . . it kept giving me an error whenever I assigned the MIDI output. It even crashed my session. I'll try again today.

Drumagog will do this and has a small latency so all you have to do is zoom in on your orgianl drum and match the hits (transiensts ) i use this to use samples of bfd, ez drummer. addictive drums etc.
