Overdub and Mixing Studio

I just moved from Virginia to Souther California. I have a G4 with an HD3. Since LA is rediculously expensive I decided to sell my HD 3 (it's for sale BTW along with a bunch of other gear, Avalon 737 etc) and get a monster LE setup for a while. I'm doing Overdub stuff and some mixing.

Help me out here. What should I get and why. Here's what I need to know.

Computer - Intel Mac Quad 2.6 or 3.0?
Pro Tools - Which interface? Mbox Pro, 002, M Powered
Preamps - I need a stereo pair
EQs
Compressors - Distressors?
Convertors - (BTW, does word clock affect mixing in the box?)
Bounce to disk? to DAT?

Give me some feedback and let me know what you think.... Peace!

the word clock will affect your D/A used for monitoring probably - which arguably affects the mixing.
