Lightbulb * * * IF YOU LIKE THE iPHONE * * *

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esDhF9TgLPQ&NR

jeff han demonstrates a wait for it..... 36" touch screen interface

seems to be using the same technology as what's in the iphone,
but the demonstration is from febuary 2006!!

my guess is apple have licensed this technology and intend to integrate
it into future apple products.. we'll see

the implications for most of us are obviously huge and could explain
amongst other things why logic 8 has a taken while to appear.

enjoy, tony

p.s. also good to see that you don't have to wear mickey mouse gloves or
'i-condoms' on your index fingers to use it.

I remember seeing this in early 2006. It was a different demonstration on the same technology. It would be interesting how we could use this in our future daws.

Haven't you guys seen this multi-point touchscreen virtual control surface?

It's not cheap, at $2,695, but it's probably a hint of what's to come.

also very cool, but seems less easy to configure.

what i like about the jeff han version of the idea is the integration of the OS
and the programme (logic maybe).

it will be a whole new ball game as far as the usual arrange and mixer views are concerned.. i guess things will be a lot less 2d and more 3d

but at least the lemur is here and now, we may have to wait for the iphone, the iphone mini etc. before we get to the '36" imac / itouch'

thanks for the link
