SMPTE to MTC conversion

I have a need to transfer my compositions from an old Tascam 488 recorder to a 2488 HD recorder.

I can still sync the 488 to my software sequencer via SMPTE, but it will only output Midi Clock messages. I need it to output Midi Time Code (MTC).

So, is there a program available that can convert the SMPTE to MTC?

Are there any MidiShare users out there who have written a program which can sync to SMPTE and then output MTC over a MIDI port??

This is a one time thing for me. Once I have it in the HD recorder and have it synced to the MIDI sequence, I won't need the SMPTE to MTXC converter any longer, so I an not interested in paying several hundred dollars for a piece of hardware.

No, there is no software for this. Only hardware.

And you don't need either anyway. You haven't specified where your midi sequence will end up in the final chain in relation to sync with the 2488, but it doesn't matter anyway. Freewheeling the audio into the 2488 and then nudging to line up with the midi (wherever it is) is simple to do with no initial sync setup.
