Easiest to Use VST Samplers?

I want to get a VST sampler that is easy to use. I've never really used one and they don't really go too deep into midi at school, at least not deep enough. I have the Steven Slate Drums and its going to be coming out in a bunch of samplers. Here is the list:
GigaStudio
Kontakt 2
Mach 5
Halion
Sample Tank 2
Reason

Which of the above is the easiest to work with? I'm mostly be programming drums but I'm sure I'll do other things.

Gigastudio seems like a good idea until you try to use it and realize there is NO WORKFLOW. Its kind of sad because the engine is powerful. SOoo.... Kontact.

That's true. GVi being VSTi should be better but kontakt is so much more powerful.

Kontakt 2 is nice. But I definitely wouldn't call it easy to use...

NI Kontakt is powerful but not the easiest at all. It kind of depends on what you are doing. I use Kontakt for all of my East West + other libraries and Battery for one hits. Honestly though.. Kontakt has great effects but Halion 3 is super fast with its nicer browser and keymapping. It doesn't get much easier. I find the browser and keymap areas of Kontakt very small and stand-out cumbersome (certainly not a show stopper though). Infact the whole Kontakt GUI is a pain for a lot of things. It usually just feels too small and a lot of scrolling. I would rather have sections of editing on different tabs/pages then one big scrollable page. Also hope your mouse wheel work with the scrollbar..

+1 NI Kontakt

I also like Halion.

I hate GigaStudio.

Junk, I was actually in your boat, I was clueless about VST samplers. I'm learning now as we start to map for them. I would try to get some demos and work with a few of them. If you are going to be using my disc with the samplers, we'll have Kontakt 2, Sampletank, Reason, Gigastudio, and Halion first. If I left something out and someone really wants it, pm me.

easiest to use from the above:

HALion 3

not there but easier:
Independence (you can also load your MIDI grooves directly into Independence)

best
