logic's linear phase eq?

has anyone tried it and compared it to other high end eq plug ins? And if you use it, what do you use it for?

it's ok. not good. ok.
I compared it to non-linear analogue eqs and there is a difference.

The point of a linear phase EQ for me is that it's supposed to have a neutral sound, not character. Offcourse there are neutral analog EQ's too, but there aren't any linear phase analog EQ's so you can't really draw a comparison.

Anyone compared the Logic Lin EQ to PSP's Neon or Waves Lin EQ?

vs Weiss eq?

Has anyone compared it against the Weiss phase linear EQ's?
While the phase linear EQ in logic isn't perfect, i end up using that on the mixbus in logic more often than the normal channel strip EQ in Logic. Haven't done much A/B comparison, but it seems to be for good measure.

I know. I thought that was clear from my post.
When I want to correct something I now use a clean analogue eq.
While there are good software emulators, yes I'm also waiting for replies, I have yet to hear an eq that can match up for effectiveness with my favorite kit.
when I use eq it is to have my seperate tracks "sit" in the mix.
I don't really care if this is linear or exponentially curved.
well, ok that is my personal observation. and that air eq is quite good. better than the logic one. and OTOH lineair is quite clean yes. could be a nice tool, if done right.
I'm not negative towards software, just cautious.
please carry on! thumbsup

I got your point Reptil, I don't advocate software, I love analog gear just as much...

However imagine you're mixing a recording where you got a lot of bleed and when you start to EQ the low end of your mix starts to suffer, even with the neutral analog EQ, this is where a linear phase EQ can come in handy. You can do fairly drastic changes while the phase stays correct.

But don't let my comment refrain you from posting, everybody is invited to this linear phase party!
