noise

hello from a newbie. i use cubase sx on a pc and am looking for something other than a noise gate to solve the hiss problem when recording my Rhodes. is there a program that "samples" the hiss/noise of a track, and uses that information to target it throughout the track and eliminate it? i can swear i remember of hearing about such a thing. thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Don't know how much you're looking to spend, but the short answer is yes...

Lots of people here have a love / hate thing going on with Waves plug-ins. That should get you started, there might be some cheaper ones out there, just Google 'audio restoration' for starters...

Good luck

Algorithmix pretty much has a lock on audio restoration plugins, at least in the PC world. But we are talking big bucks. It is worth checking out, just for the sheer coolness factor....
