That would be fun, but then I can't afford the 21" Cinema screen...

Don't know if that's true, but I wouldn't get one *huge* screen anyway - IMHO (2) 21'' LCDs are much more cost effective than one huge screen, and if a display ever goes down for some reason, you have another to work on until it gets replaced. I'd bet that you'll be able to get (3) 19'' - 21'' LCDs for the price of one 33'' - so why pay more for less total screen real estate? Just my 2 cents . . .

If you are an apple developer you can get a pretty good deal on the 23" screens right now (we just ordered one for around $1000 bucks), so I would definitely think that something new is coming out soon. I have no idea how large though...

Where did you hear the rumor? Ever since I've moved to Panther, with its Expose feature, I've felt that I didn't need two screens, so one large screen, say a 42", would be really nice IMHO. As far as having a back-up, if my monitor goes out I can always grab my trusty 17" from the store room. So far In 14 years of using apple products I've never had an apple monitor go out on me, am I just lucky? Doesn't matter though I'm pretty much settled on my 2004 gear budget, and I'm sure the price will be off the charts, if it happens at all.

rumor has it that Apple will release new displays soon after the release of the new series of G5's. Faster G5's should come at mac world or soon after. The new display will probably be a 30" model. The will probably also phase out the 17" model. They will also bring a new alluminum design to match the G5. This is all rumor andrew

does the apple cinema 21 work with a pc? does it have a dvi input? My pc has the matrox p650 video card which has dual dvi connectors.

Anyone know if a standard G4 tower had two (2) outputs for monitors as standard? How 'bout a G5? I have a G4 Pwr Book and am looking to upgrade. I already have 2 17" LCD monitors. Thanks! |
