Thread Starter | "Exclusive Property" - Contract Language
I am arranging a deal for composing music for a commercial for a large brand and there is language in the contract that says "Project shall become the exclusive property of Company". Is this typical? And further does this basically mean that once I deliver the "project" or music they can do whatever the heck they want with the music? Sell it off. Use it in multiple projects. Make money off of it on iTunes. etc etc. |

Did you consider the logistics it would take them to track and account every instance when your piece of music is used? I'm not saying this is good or bad, I'd advise you to bill them a sum that covers everything if they want to have everything.
