I just got a news article that they shut themselves down in response to the MegaUpload prosecution......

and expect more... these people are starting to realize that being a "free" rebel isn't gonna be so fun with the consequences of being behind bars...

sure, in the short term another alternative will take it's place, but eventually, and ultimately, people are going to ask themselves if it's worth the risk of a megaupload style criminal court case...

in the 35+ year history of mainstream personal computer piracy one short term alternative is quickly and seamlessly followed by another

will the tide simply turn back to non centralised p2p like the gnutella based networks? Its obviously much easier to go after a centralised search or distribution server , than it is to go after individuals ip addresses handing out court summons for single mp3 downloads
